JOËLLE RIBANT

Joëlle Joëlle Joëlle

As an artist, a dancer and a choreographer, Joelle became a reference in the art of tap dancing in Belgium. She has been teaching this discipline for more than 20 years now, thanks to a reputation based on her techical precision and her original choreographies. Engulfed in the world of performing arts by the age of 4, she acquired a lot of multidisciplinal artistic experience. Having been taught in the US and Europe, she became the European Tapdancing Champion in Paris in 1979 with her brother Guy, as the duo "Sam & Sandy", a show that later toured the world. She has taken a good number of Belgian and international workshops. As well as being a musician (trumpet), she also mastered the art of singing in musical- and jazz-style. Joelle choreographed different shows ("Thyl Ulenspiegel" in the abbey of Villers-La-Ville; "Happy 2000" at the Royal Palace), films ("Le mur" from Alain Berliner; "Théo et Marie" from Henry Helman), clips and events. She also staged 3 new shows ("On stage, please!" 1992; "Larguez les amarres!" 1993; "Black 'n White" 1995). In the 90's, Joelle starts her own tap dance and musical school: Tap Show Company. Every other year, the quality of the school shows astonishes everyone (last ones: "Tarata-Tap" and "Big Foot"). Under the wings of Joelle, the company was founded from a hard core of her pupils. Most of the choreographies on the company programme emerge from the inexhaustible brain of Joelle. Joelle is an explosive mixture of rigor and madness, combined with an utmost professionalism!
